A richly varied programme of German Lieder, French mélodies and Irish and English song including music from Schubert, Strauss, Duparc and Poulenc along with nostalgic beauties from Roger Quilter, Thomas Dunhill, Ivor Novello, Percy French and Moore’s Irish Melodies. Opera also takes a leading role with soprano Mairead Buicke bringing a wealth of international opera experience having performed with renowned companies such as English National Opera, Wexford Festival and Irish National Opera as well as appearances with Ireland’s leading orchestras. Joining Mairead is pianist, Una Hunt, who has partnered top musicians such as flautist James Galway in concert and on television and tours throughout Britain, Europe, Russia and USA. Una has performed in the world’s most prestigious venues including Carnegie Hall and the Wigmore and Queen Elizabeth Halls, London and is gathering an increasing reputation for bringing back to the stage Ireland’s unknown operatic gems.
