Gavin James – The Secret Gig

Private IIMS Fundraiser Concert with Gavin James

Join us for an intimate and exclusive fundraiser at The Lark Concert Hall, Irish Institute of Music and Song (non-profit social enterprise) on Wednesday April 29th. This exclusive evening is for people who wish to leave a permanent mark on music education in Ireland while appreciating a world-class Irish performer.

There is VERY limited ticket availability for this event.

  • Standard Concert Ticket: €55 incl fees
  • The Legacy Package ticket: €200 incl fees [ideal for corporate bookings]

This year, on the back of an amazing grant we have received from Music Network, this fundraiser will go towards the purchase of a Steinway B Grand piano for The Lark Concert Hall. Music Network have covered 75% the cost of the piano but we need to raise the final amount which is €30,000.

There are only a handful of high-quality Steinway B grand pianos across Ireland. This fantastic instrument helps us significantly in a few ways:

  1. By Bringing the “Gold Standard” to Balbriggan: This is the world’s most respected concert instrument. By helping us bridge the final funding gap, you are helping us “unlock” this grant and bring a 100-year legacy instrument to our community.
  2. Driving our Scholarship Program: While the piano is the centerpiece of our Concert Hall, our students are the heart of our mission. This instrument is vital for establishing the organisation as a serious music institute.
  • Attracting Top Talent: Having a world-class piano allows us to host international artists, the profits from which directly fund our IIMS Scholarship Program.
  • Equity of Access: Your support ensures that our scholarship students get to learn and perform on the best equipment in the world.

The piano is more than just an instrument; it is an investment that ensures the IIMS remains a self-sustaining home for music. The piano will exist in the venue as long as the venue exists (which we expect to be well beyond the next 100 years!).

Your ticket money will go directly towards this cause. If you’d like to support more, you can purchase a piano key through The Legacy Package (more information below), signed by you, which will exist forever on the wall in the lobby of the Lark.

THE LEGACY PACKAGE – €200 per person

For context, last year the funds raised by Gavin James’ Concert provided:

  • Singing scholarships for 25 children
  • Scholarships for 12 songwriters at the International Songwriting Retreat
  • Guitar scholarships for 8 children
  • Provided subsidies for parents in need of financial support for their child’s lessons

The VIP Experience

From the moment you arrive, you will be treated to an elevated hospitality experience:

  • Private VIP Enclave: Exclusive access to a restricted lounge area away from the main bustle.
  • Reception & Food: A complimentary welcome drink upon arrival, followed by a selection of finger foods.
  • The Meet & Greet: A dedicated moment to meet Gavin James and capture a professional photograph to commemorate the evening.

The “Key” to the Lark: A Permanent Legacy

This package offers a unique physical connection to the venue for life.

  • The Artist’s Token: Every guest will receive an authentic piano key signed by Gavin James – a rare piece of memorabilia for your home or office.
  • The Founder’s Wall: You will participate in a special signing of a piano key that will be permanently installed on the Lark Concert Hall wall. Your contribution will be woven into the very fabric of the building.

For corporate bookings, please call us directly on 087 442 6999 or email boxoffice@thelark.iims.ie.

Why This Matters

Your attendance goes beyond the music. This fundraiser directly supports the final funds needed to complete the purchase of a Steinway B piano, following the Irish Institute of Music and Song’s €74,000 grant award from Music Network Ireland! Ensuring the world-class venue is equipped with world-class instruments to attract world-class artists.
